“I can’t see how a Christian can vote for Obama…”
“I can’t see how a Christian can vote for McCain…”
I’ve heard them both said by well meaning believers who have strong opinions on politics as well as big hearts in their faith. It’s very easy to get carried away when talking about politics…which is why I try my best to refrain from getting into political discussions. Everyone has their opinion and there isn’t much we can do to change ones mind.
But consider this…
God has perfect plans with imperfect people.
God is the one who establishes the authority of those in government (Rom 13), so regardless of who becomes the next president, God has a reason for it. He is in control and knows exactly who he wants in office.
Be careful not to put too much faith in a political candidate, because ultimately it is the church, not a political candidate that will be God’s instrument of change in our world.
